I beg your garden? National Tree Day is almost here!

July 17, 2022

Calling all green thumbs! Planet Ark’s National Tree Day 2022 is approaching, and we’re rallying the Brisbane and Moreton Bay community together for this important event. Will you join us?

Torque Toyota is committed to a sustainable future, and we’re excited to be supporting Planet Ark for yet another fabulous year (15 and counting!) on Australia’s largest annual tree-planting and nature care event.

SCHOOLS TREE DAY

On Friday 29th July, 2022, school students right across the country will get their hands dirty for a good cause with Schools Tree Day – engaging in educational planting experiences to learn the importance of caring for our natural environment and giving back to the community.

Keen to get your school involved? Good news: Torque Toyota can sponsor you! We’ll provide plants, tools and everything you need to make it an educational event to remember – simply reach out to us on the contact details below.

NATIONAL TREE DAY

PLANT A TREE IN HONOUR OF YOUR FAMILY OR A SPECIAL EVENT

Can you think of a better way to show your love for your family than literally giving it life? Why not plant a tree in your backyard in honour of your loved ones, a special event, milestone or achievement? Some of our team will be doing so, and we hope we can inspire you too.

Why plant trees?

Trees are natural carbon sequesters – meaning they absorb and capture carbon from our atmosphere. The timber they produce is also an important, environmentally friendly building material because it stores carbon and is a renewable resource. So it’s important we continue to plant trees and look after our natural environment.

Being in nature is also good for your health and wellbeing! Having a dedicated day to plant a tree (or more) gets us all out and into our beautiful landscapes.

Some unbe-leaf-able facts on the National Tree Day impact, since 1996:

  • 26 million trees planted
  • 5 million volunteers
  • 10 million hours of time donated

WOW! And we couldn’t achieve it without YOU.
